I agree. I do not mind creating a beautiful picture. But to make it something it never was is false. (I use Lightroom 3). To "jazz"something up is not to my liking. Off course there is place for radically changed photos (depends on use and purpose). A bad photo (light, focus, composition, etc) can never be made into a good photo. There is exceptions off course.....

What a fantastic post...
I been to Cathedral Rock several times and taken its iconic images from across Oak Creek at Crescent Moon Ranch Park. Yours is from a place and with a composition and background I've never seen. I've always wanted to photograph it from the other side of Oak Creek. Kudos to you!!!

Wow! Really excellent light you captured! That light being cast on the rock formation is really something. The glow really brings the whole image to life. I think if the glow weren't there the scene wouldn't be as poppin'. I don't know if it was intentional or if you got lucky but the placement of where the glowing cloud is spot on. The glowing cloud helps to really bring attention to the rock formation. I also really like that little touch of white in your foreground with the flower. Little things like that make all the difference in whether an image is a winner or not. This is for sure a winner!

Early bird gets the worm and you got a good one! I'm usually on the second bus to those sunsrises and I always see ONE GUY packing up his equipment with a big smile on his face as I arrive a "dollar short". Now I know who that guy is...either you, George, or Ian. Dang!
