I just returned from leading a wonderful 7 day workshop through the Canadian Rockies for the Friends of Arizona Highways. The weather was changing by the second and we got some great light. Staying in the Fairmonts’ every night wasn’t that much of a hardship either. (strolling down from the Chateau just as the mountain starts to glow; what could be better than 5 star roadkill?)
A special shoutout to my van buddies Warren, Pete, Susan (nicknamed Bear Bait because she was always way off somewhere by herself), John, and of course Amy – aka The VP or The Van Princess. Also special thanks to the Friends of Arizona Highways for running such smooth workshops.

Hey George I remember that shot, hope mine turns out somewhere close to yours but I doubt it…. By the way you never mentioned me in your write up and Bear Bait was with me in the ‘quiet’ van!!! Thanks for the inspiration and enthusiasm during the tour, hope we meet again on another workshop.
oops Jane, sorry about that. I was at one point or another in all the vans and never really got it figured out. As for yours, you were right there, I can’t think of a reason why it wouldn’t look amazing. Processing was straightforward- I did it all in Lightroom. I have confidence – you should too.! Have fun in Vancouver!
Gorgeous light, clouds, reflection, silhouettes.
Well done…did I mention the photograph was gorgeous too?
Kirk, thanks for the kind word..
Just got off the water after five days of wilderness kayaking on Lake Powell. What a gorgeous composition. This is certainly to end up in the composition book!
That shot is simply amazingI am planning a trip back in the rockies in the nest 2 years. Want to finish Newfoundland first. I really like how you Gallery wrap you pictures, do you do it in photoshop or is it a plugin for Lightroom. I bought Lr/Mogify plugin for Lightroom but I can’t achieve that look. I really enjoy the Dreamscapes team you are a real source od inspiration. Continue sharing your passion as I keep learning
